Lets Travel to....Solvang, CA

Headed to Solvang, CA and need ideas on what to do? Watch this video for a few ideas.

We drove from LA to stay one night near Solvang. 

Our first stop was Gainey Winery right off the highway. This was a great location for big groups.

Next, we headed into town for lunch at Solvang Brewery and enjoyed some burgers and beer. There's two things you see everywhere: wine tasting and bakeries! So even though we were stuffed from lunch, we headed to a bakeries for some treats.

We walked off our food and enjoyed a stroll to, you guessed it, another bakery! HA! The Solvang Restaurant for some aebleskivers, a Dutch jam-filled donut. Yum!

In order to save a few dollars, we booked a campsite at Cachuma Lake and it was perfect for us. If you enjoy camping, this is the a great location. 

Before heading out, we stopped at one more winery, Sunstone. Another great winery with delicious wine and great if you are going with a big group.

Let's Travel To....My Casita: Bathroom Edition

There was a lot of Pinterest inspo that contributed to our budget-friendly bathroom design. Peep our hexagon tile that I LOVE! The tile was on the pricier side but seeing as how the space is relatively small, we decided to go for it and splurge on the tile. Una vez al a ño no hace da ño! Let’s start with our bathroom mirror, which was made by Nick *insert heart-eyes here* He spent some time on YouTube looking for ideas until he found one that we both liked. He used this video for reference. We purchased the wood + mirror at Home Depot for a total $40. The wood stain is something he already had, but a quart is as cheap as $5. We did see similar large mirrors at places like Home Goods, but they were more expensive and not actual wood. Plus, it was difficult to find one in the color we liked.   Let me preface this by saying I know we are in the middle of a pandemic. Nick and I do not take this lightly and we did our part in researching places to make sure they were taking appropriate COVID precautions. The rental has a beachfront balcony that overlooks the K-38 surf break. They keep the grounds in immaculate condition. There is a pool and jacuzzi to enjoy with an amazing beach view.
